RJ Logistics partners up with NSO Detroit to provide blankets for the homeless community

RJ Logistics has partnered with Neighborhood Service Organization (NSO) Detroit, a local shelter, to gift our homeless community with dozens of blankets to keep them warm during the cold Michigan winter.

NSO Detroit is a non-profit organization based locally in Detroit, Michigan. The organization aims to provide support to the homeless community in our city and help individuals get back on their feet by providing them with food, shelter, guidance, and empowerment. NSO Detroit has helped change the lives of hundreds by giving them a second chance. The organization assists adults with mental illness and developmental disabilities, as well as children. NSO provides their homeless residents with temporary housing and teaches them skills that gives them the ability to provide for themselves and become integrated with everyday society.  This year, the mission for NSO was to provide residents with warm blankets to make sure they stay comfortable throughout the winter, and RJ Logistics was eager to get on board.

The partnership with NSO was birthed by the effort of two RJ Logistics employees, Andrei Manaila and Kris Mersinaj, who are actively involved in the Detroit community, and are passionate about the role that RJ Logistics plays in social responsibility.  Our team saw this as a great opportunity to participate just weeks before Christmas, and many employees jumped on board when the opportunity presented itself and donated their personal time, money, and new blankets.

Although COVID-19 has created many challenges for people and businesses in 2020, our team did not let that stop them from giving back to the local community.  RJ Logistics is a well-known partner throughout metro Detroit, including several shelters in the area.

RJ Logistics would like to thank the employees who made personal donations, as well as NSO Detroit for the opportunity to help combat homelessness in Detroit.  If you are interested in learning more about NSO Detroit and getting involved with their efforts, please visit their website at
